During our first visit to the Woodmere Art Museum, we looked at lots of art and started to understand the important parts of a painting, sketch, or sculpture.  We even started to write a presentation on a piece of art that we chose!  

To practice looking at art and writing about it,  here’s a work by the famous artist MC Escher.  I want you to look closely. Choose one part of the drawing that is interesting to you.  Write about why it is interesting, and try to include some art words if you can.  Good Luck

The boy woke up in the middle of the night.  As he rubbed his still-sleep-filled eyes, a weird glow appeared, along with music and a strange clicking sound.  Only when he put his glasses on, did he see the source of the weirdness.  It was his ipod, and it was standing in front of him.  It had two arms and two legs.  “Greetings!” it said.
